Follow Your Own Star

Good evening blog people.  I made todays card with my new Unity set.  I think it is a graduation card.  Background paper is from Doodlebug designs.  Arrow punch is from Stampin' Up.

For this card I used a piece of transparent stuff with fuzzy purple dots on it (from Fancy Pants).  Thats all.  from Martha

Good evening to all.  Todays card is another one with the embossed flower technique.  I maybe went a little overboard on the words.  All of the stamps are Stampin' Up.  Background paper is Echo Park.  Thats all.  from Martha

Good evening everyone!

I warned you I would be posting more of these flowers.  I embossed the flower from a Stampin' Up set, sponged on Tim Holtz distress ink, then spritzed with water and let it dry.  Then I spritzed a pink colored Glimmer Mist over the whole thing.  The frame was cut with a spellbinder die.  Then I cut the die in white and glued all those negative space white pieces in.  I think the sentiment is from a different Stampin' Up set.

This card doesn't really go with the first one, but I wanted to show you what I did with the little pink pieces that punched out of the frame.  I glued them down into this design.  The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink and the background paper is echo park.

Have a good night.  from Martha

Good evening to everyone.  I made my card for today with a piece of orange fabric as the background.  I frayed the edges by unweaving the threads.  The background paper is from Stampin' Up.  The stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink.  Ink is Colorbox Chalk.  I just stapled the fabric down with a Tim Holtz mini stapler cuz that was easiest.

Here is a closer detail shot.  Notice the little white ribbon.

Look closely and you will notice that I used all the little thread from fraying the edges of my fabric on this card!  I made a "nest" to hold my flower.  How's that for upcycling!  Stamp is from Papertrey Ink.

Here comes Monday.  from Martha

Mother's Day Card

Good evening everyone.  Today's card was a blast to make.  I white embossed the rose from Stampin' Ups Fifth Avenue Floral set on thick white cardstock.  I sponged on Tim Holtz distress inks and Marmelade colored Glimmer Mist.  Then I sprayed the whole thing with a generous amount of water and spritzed with more Glimmer Mist once it dried.  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart, and I am not sure on the background paper.  I saw this technique on the Papertrey Ink blog and thought I would give it a try.  It was way fun so you will see lots of examples of this technique on my blog in the next few days.

Here is another example made the same way with a little bit different colors.  The sentiment tag is made with Stampin' Up supplies.

Have a great evening.  from Martha

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge

Good afternoon everyone.  This week's Make It Monday Challenge on Nichole's Blog over at Papertrey Ink called for making a simple card, and then amping it up with more layers.  Here is my take on the challenge.  First is the simple card using the frame set and a flower, just stamped on a white card.  I punched the corners with a ticket corner punch, which goes really well with the details on the frame set.  I used post it notes to line up the images.

This is my amped up version.  I placed the white panel on a Pacific Point blue card to set it off.  I added the yellow color and stamped with dots from Stampin' Up.  On the detail shot you can see that the sentiment panel is on dimensional tape and I added a yellow pearl to the O.  Then I tied on yellow twine and red embroidery floss to finish it off.

This challenge was really fun!  Blogger has "updates" and is acting weird, so I apologize in advance if this turns out funky.

Have a great weekend.  from Martha

With a Friend

Good evening everyone.  For todays cards, I made flowers with a Tim Holtz die and plain fabric.  Then I spattered the flowers with Marmelade colored glitter spritz and put a flower brad in the middle.  Next I put a black piece of cardstock behind a white piece with a circle cut out of the corner.  I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts above the flower and mounted to an orange card.

For the second card I made a larger flower in the same fashion.  The sentiment on this one is from Papertrey Ink and I added some plastic circle stickers.  Done.

Here is a close up of the flower I made.

For this card I made a tag with Papertrey Ink stamp and Papertrey die.  The pattern on the tag is also a Papertrey Ink stamp.  The skinny silk ribbon is from my friend Grace's stash (she got it from her sister Mickey).  It is awesome.  I punched the scallop border with a Stampin' Up border punch.

Thank You

Good Evening everyone!  Today's card is made with Papertrey Ink Stamps.  I stamped the big flower in Colorbox Chalk ink, stamped the sentiment in the middle.  I put a small bling thing on each petal, layered the panels and thats all.

For this card I used the same stamp sets, added more colors of Colorbox Chalk, layered it and thats all.

Have a great Monday evening.  from Martha

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge

Okay, here is my take on the challenge.  Instead of a leaf die, I made this with a Papertrey Ink die that cuts a little bunch of grapes.  (That is the dark burgundy part of the flower).  The pink part was made with a hand punch I have that makes that shape.  Stamp and die to make the greeting are from Papertrey ink.  Background paper is from Webster's pages.  Added a button, ribbon and rhinestones and poof, done.  from Martha

Thank You

Hello everyone.  I made todays card with Echo Park papers.  The little frame was made with a die set and stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  This one was quick and easy.

This card is very similar, except I used stickers from the paper pack instead of stamping.  Way easy.
